My Interview

by Nathan on Jan.25, 2009, under About Me

Bri of Under The Arch asked if anyone wanted to be interviewed in this post. I’ve been suffering from a serious lack of blogging motivation, so I jumped at the opportunity. By jumped, I mean that I posted a comment asking to be interviewed. I may have also literally jumped, but I’m not sure. I figure it’s just answering silly questions, how hard can it be? If you want to play along, follow the directions at the end of this post.

1. If you found yourself, entirely by accident, on a nudist beach, would you go native?

It depends. How exactly did I “accidently” find myself at a nudist beach? Was I planning on going to the beach and I just didn’t know that it was a nudist beach? Or was I going to the post office and somehow took a wrong turn? If I was planning on going to the beach anyways, I might go nude. If there is any chance of me running into somebody I know though, I’ll be keeping my clothes on.

2. Would you rather see only in black & white or only see the colors green & orange?

Assuming my functional vision is the same either way, I’m going with green & orange. It just seems more interesting than black & white.

3. What is your biggest guilty pleasure?

Either a McDonald’s #3 (quarter pounder with cheese meal) or a Ted Drew’s concrete (or a Dairy Queen blizzard).

4. This is a multiple choice question. You must choose one of the provide answers. Like it. Or not. When you’re driving down the highway and someone catches you catching them picking their nose, what do you do?

A.) Point and laugh.

B.) Pick your nose too so they don’t feel so awkward.

C.) Start honking to get other drivers’ attention so they can watch the nose picking display themselves.

Honestly, I’m probably more likely to be the guy who is caught. Sorry, TMI? Anyways, I would pick my nose too, so that they don’t feel awkward. I mean everybody does it, right? Let’s move on.

5. What is your best memory?

Whoa, suddenly you went all deep on me. Hmm… There are two candidates. The first would be Christmas morning 1983. I was 6, and we spent Christmas at my grandparents in Florida. I was a big Masters of the Universe fan, and I got the Castle Grayskull and a bunch of action figures from Santa. This was the last Christmas that I really believed in Santa Claus, so it was still magical to me. Shortly after this, I figured out that Santa Claus wasn’t real, and then the Tooth Fairy, and soon I started questioning the existence of God. So I guess Christmas 1983 was the end of innocence for me, er… something like that.

The second candidate is late August 1996. It was the first night back at college for my sophomore year. It was a warm summer evening, and everybody was hanging out on the balcony of the quads drinking beer. It wasn’t a crazy party atmosphere, everybody was just happy to be back and having a good time. It was a nice, warm, great sense of community feeling.
